Is Kratom an Opiate?

The simple answer, no. Kratom is a partial agonist of the opioid receptors.

In other words, it works on the same receptors but with partial potency. However, 7-hydroxmitragynine is stronger, but it’s not clear if it works exactly like morphine on the brain, which can be to your advantage.

Kratom is robust enough to block other substances from activating the receptors. The brain is “tricked” to believe it’s on opioids so the user can recover and return to natural state.
